Writer. Creative. Teacher.

Words don’t just help us express sentiment, share messages, and communicate with each other; they allow us to present our most authentic selves. Whether found between the covers of a book, spoken by my favorite television characters, or overheard by family members retelling stories from their pasts, I’ve always loved words.

My passion is turning words into art. I am happiest when I can create narratives that are authentic, fearless, and unveiled. In my own writing, my niche is fiction and creative non-fiction. I find inspiration from the vulnerability and authenticity of life’s experiences; my writing is marked by the people and moments that have made me feel something.

I have extensive experience as a ghostwriter, dating back to 2005. With roles varying from Editorial Writer to Communications Director I’ve had the benefit of working with a wide-range of clients on a variety of projects. However, it is my creative background and storytelling approach to projects that makes my content-development distinctive. Whether I’m working with a political hopeful or a fledgling business owner, I understand that telling their story is often the key to helping them connect with constituents, clients, and customers. I help my clients define, develop, and tell their stories in a way that shares their distinct brand personality.

Teaching — more specifically, guiding others in crafting pieces of writing that best expresses their ideas, abilities, and purpose — has been an unexpected, but meaningful experience. Over the past 10 years, I’ve had the good fortune to merge my personal passion and talents with my educational background to curate a professional trajectory that has been fulfilling.

During my graduate studies, the teacher in me emerged. I worked as a Teaching Assistant and Writing Consultant. I also studied the Pedagogy of the Developmental Adult Writer, focusing on guiding adult learners to improving their writing skills. While taking on various roles in higher ed, I have developed both semester-long and year-long developmental coursework — complete with individualized writing labs — designed to increase the likelihood of success for the underprepared college student. I have extensive work as a Writing Consultant in settings ranging from large-scale writing centers to small freelance projects.

I’ve put in the work.

Creativity is at the heart of all my work; whether I am in a classroom, penning a piece of my own, or working one-on-one with a client, I commit to infusing the process with intention, resourcefulness, and an open mind. As the Managing Editor of LUXE RADAR MEDIA (LRM), it is my job not only to create and edit copy, but to imagine and bring to fruition brand partnerships, artist collaborations, concepts for new campaigns, and both virtual and in-person experiences. I oversee the editorial process at LRM and have the opportunity to contribute to the creative direction of the brand’s premier publication The Fruit. This role with LRM is both challenging and fulfilling; so much so that it gave me the courage to move away from my full-time role in the classroom to pursue creative content-development on a full-time basis. I am currently writing and developing independent passion projects; excerpts of which will be shared via my blog and LRM’s exclusive content.
